OAK ISLAND

Oak Island is located in North Carolina. I recently visited there over the summer for a quick getaway before school. It was such a fun experience and I had a blast with my family and friends! I learned to boogie board for the first time and absolutely loved it. I got dunked from the waves quite a few times because of the high tides, but that didn’t matter. I also learned how to surf. I didn’t quite stand up but I was very close. I rode a few waves and it was very enjoyable and an adventure. Some other fun activities we did was take multiple photoshoots on the beach, had themed nights, biked on the beach, and practiced surfing in the pool while it was raining!

CAMBODIA

A few years ago, I took a trip with family and friends to Cambodia. I was educated on many temples that we visited and learned how each one was unique to Cambodia’s religion and beliefs. The lifestyle of Cambodia was very different from here and it was interesting to see. Their lifestyle consists of individuals having their own small markets on the side of the roads. I also was witnessed to one of the owners of the side chasing us down the street attempting to get us to buy something. It wasn’t as terrible of an experience as it sounds. It was very funny and she meant no harm. It was definitely something new to me though and I realized this is how they make money so they have to try and sell things somehow. The food there was very authentic and different, but even being the picky eater I am, I actually enjoyed some of the foods. Overall, Cambodia was a very unique and educational trip that I’m glad I got the chance to visit.

FLORIDA

Florida was our first family reunion with my mom’s side that lives in London. It was an exciting and eventful trip that was so worth all the planning and missed school! We all stayed in one big villa that featured a pool and a slide as well. I have been to Florida before, but this time it was extra special because I was with all my cousins and got to go to Universal Studios for the first time! I rode on the Gringotts Harry Potter and the Simpson simulator rides. I really enjoyed it because it felt just like a roller coaster, but in reality, it wasn’t. Besides the rides at Universal, we hung out at the pool a lot and had outside barbeque cookouts. As well as, hired a professional photographer and had a whole photo shoot. That was honestly pretty fun! I created so many memories and can’t wait to make more with my cousins!
